Two kinds of information
ijuo LLC ("ijuo," "we," "us") makes software for field service businesses. That means we handle two different kinds of personal information, and our role is different for each.
Information about the businesses that use ijuo. When an operator signs up, we decide what we collect and why. We're the controller of that information, and this policy describes what we do with it.
Information about their customers. When an operator enters a homeowner's name, address, phone number, job photos, or payment history into ijuo, the operator decides what to collect and why. We're a processor acting on their instructions. We store it, keep it secure, and make it available to them — we don't decide how it's used, and we don't use it for our own purposes.
If you're a homeowner, your relationship is with the business you hired. This policy explains what we do with your information on their behalf, but they control it.
What we collect
From operators
- Account information — name, business name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Business information — business address, service area, catalog, pricing, and settings you configure.
- Billing information — your subscription plan and payment history. Your card details go directly to our payment processor; we don't receive or store them.
- Support communications — messages you send us.
Entered by operators about their customers
- Contact details — name, email, phone, mailing address.
- Property and job details — site addresses, measurements, photos, notes, service history.
- Quotes, signatures, invoices, and payment records.
We don't require any particular field. What ends up here is what the operator chooses to enter.
Collected automatically
- Log and device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, and error reports.
- Security and audit records — sign-in events and records of significant actions taken in an account, which exist so operators can see who did what.
We don't track you across other websites, and we don't run advertising.
How we use it
- To provide the platform and the features you use.
- To bill you and process payments.
- To respond to support requests.
- To send service messages — receipts, security alerts, and important changes. These aren't marketing and you can't opt out of them while you have an account.
- To keep the platform secure, detect fraud and abuse, and investigate incidents.
- To fix problems and improve how the platform works.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We don't use operator business data or customer records to train machine learning models for our own purposes, and we don't use them to compete with the businesses that gave them to us.
We don't sell your data
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We don't sell or rent operator customer lists to anyone, for any purpose.
Where it's stored
Platform data is stored on servers in the United States, currently in Oregon. If you use ijuo from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed here.
How long we keep it
We keep operator account data for as long as the account is active. After an account closes, data remains available for export for 30 days and is then deleted within 90 days, except where we need to keep it longer.
Two things we keep longer, and why:
- Financial and transaction records, for as long as tax, accounting, and payment network rules require.
- Signed documents and their audit records, because they're evidence of an agreement between an operator and their customer. Deleting a signed contract on request would defeat its purpose. We keep these for the period required to resolve disputes over the agreement, and an operator can ask us about the retention that applies to theirs.
Backups are kept on a rolling schedule and are overwritten in the ordinary course.
Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, database-level isolation so one business cannot access another's records, access controls, and audit logging of significant actions.
Card details are entered directly into our payment processor's form and never reach our systems, so we don't store card numbers.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law and tell you what we know.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA; Nevada and several other states provide similar rights.
If you're an operator, most of this is available directly in your account settings, and you can export your data at any time. For anything else, email hello@ijuo.com.
If you're a customer of an operator, contact that business — they control your information and can act on it immediately. If you can't reach them, email us and we'll help. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some requests are limited where we're required to retain records.
We'll respond within the time the applicable law requires. You may also authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the platform to work — keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and protecting against fraud. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate.
We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can block cookies in your browser, but you won't be able to stay signed in.
Children
ijuo is a business tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child's information has been provided to us, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. If a change is material we'll notify account holders before it takes effect, and we'll always update the effective date at the top.
